CNC Turning

Curran Engineering was founded in 1987 and has developed a reputation for excellent standards in all forms of work whether it is CNC Milling, CNC Turning, Waterjet Cutting or Designing and Manufacturing Special Purpose Machines.

We are able to machine components on our lathes in a wide range of materials including Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Bronze, Plastics as well as many others. From prototype work up to production runs, no quantity is out of our capability. Our continual investment in the latest technology ensures that we are able to supply parts to the highest quality whilst remaining competitive with our pricing.

Our CNC Turning Machinery

We operate two CNC lathes with bar feeders, one being a Haas TL15, the other a Dainichi F20. Both have the capacity to bar feed up to 2 Inch (50mm) diameter material. While the Haas uses collets for smaller diameter work, The Dainichi uses soft jaws to make it universal to small diameter material as well as larger diameters up to 200mm. The Haas is also fitted with a live tooling option which allows us to perform milling operations. This eliminates the need for secondary operation setup and reduces production lead times.

As well as these, we also have an Alpha 1550 XT. This has the ability to turn larger materials up to 400mm Diameter. With a distance between centres of 2 meters and an 8 tool turret, it broadens our capabilities, allowing us to manufacture both one off prototypes as well as high volume production runs.

All of our CNC Lathes use an up to date CAD/CAM system to produce components with tight tolerances, close concentricities, fine finishes, and complex features. This technology however isn't good enough alone, and what makes us so good to deal with is our highly trained and professional team. Each of our team members take a lot a pride in their work and with a strict in house inspection policy, having clients ranging from the mining industries, to aerospace, to pharmaceuticals, you can be assured our work is always produced with the highest standards.
